Center for Connected Health Fall Symposium Using VisionTree Mobile™ Integrated with Twitter® for Audience Interaction
- Over 1,000 attendees will be able to use their web-enabled phones and Twitter to participate in real-time audience response, live questions and group discussion -
SAN DIEGO — September 16, 2009 — The Connected Health Symposium held on October 21-22, 2009 at the Boston Park Plaza Hotel & Towers, will use VisionTree Mobile to have the audience interact with presenters, participate in group polling, ask questions and view the meeting content on their mobile devices. Using any mobile device (iPhone, Blackberry, WinMo device, Laptop, etc.) that has web access, attendees will simply open their web browser to the VisionTree supplied URL and be able to have a voice and a vote in the direction of the meeting, the topics, and what questions the presenters will answer. VisionTree is also providing a Twitter integration to pull in relevant comments and questions from across the world and will allow the presenters and moderators to see those tweets in real-time.
The Connected Health Symposium asks how information technology -- cell phones, computers, the Internet and other tools -- can help people manage chronic conditions, maintain health and wellness, and age with independence. Some of the groundbreaking topics will include:
- The Amazing Effects on Health of Social Networks -- and How to Harness Their Power to Help Patients
- Payment Reform, the Role of Information Technology, and the Implications for IT Business Models
- Limits to the Wisdom of Patients and the Wisdom of Crowds? Implications from Behavioral Economics
- Remote Monitoring in 2014: What'll Be Different in Five Years about the Technology, the Data and the Incentives?
- Health Games: All Set to Play?
- Coordinating Care: What's Really Involved and Who's Really Going to Do It?
Over 1,000 healthcare and technology leaders world-wide, from hospitals, clinics, home health agencies, large employers and health plans will be attending the event. As an attendee, you'll exchange ideas with tech entrepreneurs, business execs, investors, government officials and patient organization representatives.
"Providing mobile access to the meeting content and participation with their own smart phones or laptops will engage the entire audience to more effectively interact with the panelists around key topics", said Joseph Ternullo, JD, MPH, Associate Director of the Center for Connected Health at Partners HealthCare System in Boston, Massachusetts. "We are excited to have this real-time input instantly graphed into meaningful charts to provide an important insight of the audience's perceptions of the emerging healthcare strategies discussed by the panelists."
VisionTree is proud to be a platinum sponsor of the Connected Health Symposium and will have representatives onsite to discuss VisionTree's solutions in the healthcare and conference markets with its web-based, patient-centered workflow and connectivity solutions.
"We are very excited and honored to have VisionTree's mobile technology platform used at the Connected Health Symposium. Our commitment to connected health and our leading, web-based technologies will allow attendees to interact, brainstorm and engage the presenters and peers in a way not possible with any traditional audience response system," said Adam Hawkins, Director of Technology for VisionTree. "With over 500,000 users of our system, VisionTree Mobile will provide an easy, secure and effective way to engage over 1,000 attendees using their existing hardware and software."
Attendees will be given a URL before the meeting starts to access the site. There is no software to install, and any device with internet access and a web browser will work with VisionTree Conference.
