Sharp Systems of America links to VisionTree™ Software for a 30-day free trial in its new line of Actius™ notebook computers

Consumer electronics giant enhances industry leadership stance, customer service by including relevant decision-making offering in new products

SAN DIEGO and IRVINE, Calif — September 27, 2004 — Sharp Systems of America (www.sharpsystems.com) and VisionTree™ Software (www.visiontree.com) today announced a partnership where the consumer electronics giant will offer a link to a 30-day free trial of VisionTree Personal Edition™ on its new line of Actius™ notebook computers.

The Actius AL-27 ultra light, PC notebooks will become available in retail stores beginning in October, and offer the relevant and results-based decision making software for users to tryout.

Users can click on the VisionTree desktop icon and connect to the 30-day free trial anytime after purchase. The notebooks will also include a link for customers to access the trial and also have the option to buy the software outright.

"We view this partnership as integral to our mission of benefiting people's lives at work, at home and everywhere in between," said Mark Romano, Director of Marketing at Sharp Systems of America. "Linking to VisionTree Personal Edition as a free trial in our Actius notebooks provides our customers with an extremely valuable and versatile application that can be applied to individual or group decision making for any situation."

Sharp's product management and marketing teams saw VisionTree Personal Edition in action at various high school and college events, and immediately recognized its value for their new line of notebook computers. The application allows a free expression of answers that sequentially guides you through any type of decision providing a result every time based on your input. VisionTree Personal Edition helps individuals make the most informed decision, through customized Internet research and a brainstorming approach that sorts the ideas entered by the user into a big picture action plan.

"Sharp possesses a very keen understanding that customers are demanding more relevant and valued features in the products they buy," said Martin Pellinat, President of VisionTree Software. "We feel our results-based decision making software not only helps them meet this market need, but also increases their customer loyalty and satisfaction."

The current partnership between the two companies evolved from Sharp Systems' efforts with VisionTree to support Freedom's Answer, a nationwide, non-partisan, high school student voter registration campaign. Both companies will consider expanding the 30-day free trial offer to other Sharp products at the end of the year.
